Your secret anti-ageing weapon to boost collagen — and prevent collagen loss, lines and wrinkles.
Bio remodelling injections (bio stimulators or collagen stimulator injections) are an exciting new anti-ageing treatment that stimulates your immune system to produce collagen. Once injected, they stimulate your collagen-producing cells, known as fibroblasts, which, in turn, prevent further collagen loss. If you like, you can think of them as a secret weapon to help prevent facial ageing. They are entirely different from injectable fillers, which augment or volumise areas of the face.
KEY INFO ON BIO REMODELLERS
• Stimulate your cells (fibroblasts) that produce collagen
• Primary aim is preventative — to minimise collagen loss as you age
• Secondary gain is noticing a more youthful appearance due to increased collagen production
• Considered an anti-ageing medical treatment
• Particularly beneficial for women during perimenopause as collagen loss accelerates during this time
What are bio-remodelling injections?
Bio remodellers help your body stimulate fibroblasts to continue producing collagen to slow the ageing process.
Effectively, the primary aim of biostimulators is prevention — to keep your collagen-producing cells active and help prevent a further loss of collagen. They help slow down wrinkles, skin laxity and a loss of elasticity.
By using these collagen stimulating injections, you’re investing in your skin, using them as a preventative measure to slow down the ageing process. However, there are two bonuses:
1. Our bio-remodelling injections contain hyaluronic acid, which helps immediately plump the skin from within, so within 1 to 2 weeks, you’ll enjoy looking years younger — even after the first treatment.
2. After a few months, you’ll likely notice an increased level of collagen production, resulting in fewer fine lines and wrinkles and plumper, more even-toned skin. Effectively, your skin will look like it used to years ago. The level of improvement you experience depends on your age, your immune system, and the amount of collagen your body can produce.
Areas treated
• Face – for overall facial rejuvenation, skin resurfacing and fine lines
• Decolletage – smooth and refine crepey skin around the collarbone and upper chest
• Hands – giving the delicate skin a smoother and more refined appearance
• Neck – collagen stimulator injections are particularly good for treating the neck area and will help smooth and plump the skin and reduce laxity
• Elbows and knees – minimise laxity in the knee and elbow area, reducing signs of ageing
• Stomach – tightening loose skin that is noticeable after ageing or weight loss
The aim of bio-remodelling injections
• Stimulate collagen and elastin
• Improve skin firmness
• Improve skin tone and texture
• Deeply hydrate the skin
• Improve fine lines and wrinkles
How long until you see results?
If your injection contains hyaluronic acid (and most do), you’ll see a noticeable difference within 1 to 2 weeks as this ingredient will instantly rehydrate the dermis. However, it may take up to 6 months for your body to produce new collagen, resulting in visible skin firming and tightening. The result you won’t see is the future loss of collagen, which, again, is the primary objective of bio remodelling.
How many treatments are required?
The amount of treatment required will be determined by your practitioner. However, the older you are, the more treatments are required to help turn back the clock. The results will depend on the degree of collagen loss and your ability to generate new collagen. As an approximate guide, the treatments required are as follows:
• 30s to mid-40s: 2 courses of treatments
• 40s to mid 50s: 3 courses of treatments
• 50s to 60s and beyond: 3-4 causes of treatments
Each course of treatment consists of 2 to 3 treatments one month apart.
